If a person were information literate he/she would be able to discern the facts from fictions. That would be a miracle with so much information, and so many authors processing the information from their visual perspective.
An information literate person needs to know how to access information from whatever source, decide what information is relevant, and evaluate its validity. Younger children really have a problem reading the information and with keyboarding speed.
The person would be able to decide what kind of information they are looking for, what sources they can investigate for that information, be able to organize that information and put that information to use.
If a person were information literate, they would know where to go to locate information they're looking for, pull out what they want to use, be able to verify that it's accurate and use it correctly.
